RECTOR's CORNER

Mr. Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi was born in Ede over five decades ago. He attended the famous Baptist High School Ede between 1984 and 1989 where he obtained the West African School Certificate with outstanding results. Mr. Alabi proceeded to the prestigious University of Lagos Akoka Lagos, in 1991 where he bagged a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and graduated with a Second Class Upper Division in year 1997. His quest for further education and knowledge as well as his outstanding performance during his first degree programme made the Management of the University of Lagos to offer him admission in 1998 for his Masters Degree (Msc Political Science) and graduated in 1999 with a P.hD grade. Mr. Alabi K. A. joined the services of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree 11th July, 2005 as an Administrative Officer I, his appointment was confirmed on 11th July, 2007. He was later converted to the lecturer cadre and rose to the position of a Chief Lecturer in year 2020, and he was appointed the Ag. Rector of the Institution in July, 2023. Mr. K. A. Alabi has held many administrative positions in the Institution and has contributed immensely to the academic development of the Institution. He was at various times, a member of the Departmental Examination Committee, Chairman, Departmental Examination Committee, Coordinator of the Weekend Part-Time programme Acting Head of Department of General Studies, Member, Admission Screening Committee and Member of the Board of Studies. The Acting Rector has also contributed to the development of the society in many ways, he is an adviser to the Federation of Edeland Students union, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree Chapter, Adviser National Association of Osun State Students and Adviser to the Defence Cadet Corps. As part of his contributions to knowledge, Mr. Alabi has published 15 Journal Articles in both National and International Journals, he has presented 16 conference papers in both National and International Conferences. He has also co-authored 5 textbooks. Mr. K. A. Alabi belongs to a professional body of the National Association Political Scientists of Nigeria and he is actively functioning as a member of the body. He was also a former Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree chapter and the Union recorded remarkable achievements during his tenure. Also a fellow of Institute of Public Management and Development. Mr. K. A. Alabi is a lover of Sports and likes reading during his leisure time. Mr. Alabi also belongs to Several Social Clubs. A devout Muslim, Mr. K. A. Alabi is married to Mrs. Adenike Alabi and the Union is blessed with promising children.
